Admissions Process

Each prospective MWS family must take the following steps to complete the application process:

1. Parent Visit

Prospective parents are required to begin the admissions process with a private tour of the school. Private tours of the school can be scheduled directly with Sandra Freese, Director of Admissions, by calling (407) 239-6024 ext. 17.

2. Application

Interested families must submit an application for their child along with a $75 non-refundable application fee. Families with children applying to elementary will receive a Release of Information form and a teacher recommendation form. Parents will need to give these forms to their child's current school. The applicant's current school will send the recommendations, transcript and any standardized testing directly to Montessori World School.

3. Parent Interview/Student Visit

The Parent Interview and Student Visit will vary depending on the age of the prospective student:

Applicants to the Toddler and Primary Programs: Prospective parents and students meet privately with one of the Toddler or Primary teachers for an informal discussion of classroom procedures, expectations, and objectives. Prospective students visit in one of the Toddler or Primary classrooms for 1-3 hours while prospective parents are interviewed by the Director of Admissions or the Head of School.
Applicants to Grade 1: Prospective students visit in one of our Primary or 6-9 classrooms for a half-day ( 9:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.). Prospective parents are interviewed by the Director of Admissions or the Head of School. During their visit, children will have a brief assessment with a faculty/staff member.
Applicants to Grade 2-6: Prospective students visit in one of our 6-9 or 9-12 classrooms for a full day ( 9:00 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.). Prospective parents are interviewed by the Director of Admissions or the Head of School. During their visit, children will have a brief assessment with a faculty/staff member.

4. Notification

Decisions for admission are made on a rolling basis throughout the academic year as spaces are available. Parents will receive a response approximately two weeks after all required application materials have been submitted.
