Mr. Montero was born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico and moved to Orlando in July 1998. He is married to Brendaliz and a proud parent of Alexandra (5) and Ariana (2). Edwin has been with MWS since 1999, 2 years in the primary classroom and 6 years in Elementary. He earned a swimming scholarship to attend the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (1998). Mr. Montero received an NCME/AMS Certification in 2002, and received his state certification in Biology, and desires to complete a Master's Degree in Education, and pursue 3-6 and 9-12 certifications. “I believe that children have amazing potential. They are capable of accomplishing as much as they want. I just want to plant the seeds of interest for them.” He enjoys outdoor activities, swimming, cycling, beach volleyball and loves to BBQ for his family. He is also the bass player for an Orlando rock band called The Upward Trend.
