Mina has been in education for over 10 years and was a Montessori student herself. In California, she ran a Montessori school in her home for five years and now relishes her role as Resource Coordinator at Montessori World School. Her job enables her to use her theater major from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon and her Master’s in Curriculum and Education from the University of Phoenix.
Currently, her two daughters, Emma and Claire attend the school and she is thrilled with their progress. Mina finds her colleagues at the school to be inspiring and dedicated. Within her position she enjoys the opportunity to be able to work with each class. She does story times with the toddlers and the kindergartners and singing circles with toddler and primary classes. She helps the elementary students and teachers with their research projects and loves learning about their chosen topics. She also started a Family Tree Project with the third level students and enjoys getting to know these students and their families more personally with this program.
The school offers such a cultural diversity, and Mina enjoys being part of this world view. Mina enjoys traveling with her husband, Tom, and her daughters; loves to read (and to be surrounded by books every day). Mina's other hobbies include gardening, nature, animals and drawing. She loves visiting the theme parks in Orlando and her favorite rides are The Tower of Terror (without children) and the Haunted Mansion (with children). However, working with the opportunities, children and professionals at Montessori World School provide much more enrichment and entertainment than any theme park.
