I was raised amongst a family of ten in Sri Lanka and completed my degree at Good Shepard Convent. Soon thereafter, I was married and began my child care career first in Dubai then the States and finally Toronto, Canada over the course of 25 years. I first became involved in Montessori when I visited Boston and was offered a position in the toddler classroom. My interests peeked in the Montessori philosophy as I learned about their focus on the child, education of the whole to the detail. Montessori begins with a deep respect for the children as unique individuals for their social and emotional development. My worldly experience across the oceans helped my love for the Montessori methodology to grow, as my interactions with various children were so rewarding. Most importantly during this time, I built strong relationships with not only the children but their parents to ensure that trust, care and love were established. I have been surrounded by children my entire life. Whether it was my siblings, nieces or grand nephews, I am constantly motivated by the voice and pure happiness of a child.

My future goal has been reached with our move to Florida. My husband recently retired so we officially moved to Florida to start a new life in warm weather after managing in the harsh Toronto winters for the last 20 years! Finding the Montessori World School in our backyard has been so gratifying. I am so excited to begin my new life in Florida with such a great community of teachers and children.
