Mrs. Prabha Williams, who is in her fourth year of teaching at the Montessori World School, was born and raised in Sri Lanka. She lived in Canada for four years and in Texas for 8 years. She obtained her Montessori Primary Teacher certification from Brookhaven College, TX and taught for seven years, two years as an intern and five years as a teacher, at Montessori School of Lascolinas, Irving, TX. She taught in a toddler class for one year in Calgary, Alberta, and was a private tutor for three years in Sri Lanka where she taught math and English for the children from grades 1st through the 10th. She obtained her American Montessori Society certification in Florida. Her certifications also include Professional Development in Early Childhood Education from the University of Wisconsin Stout and Day Care Center staff from Career College Calgary, Alberta, Canada and her training includes Introduction to Childcare and Behavior, Observation and Screening, and Preschool Appropriate and Early Literacy for children age birth to 3 years. She is working to obtain her Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Ashworth University, Atlanta, GA. Mrs. Williams loves to travel to different countries, read books and watch movies. Her hobby is collecting elephants. Mrs. Williams is a firm believer in the Montessori Philosophy.
